Social informing
Project directed at informing youth about social and legal aspects of life are an important part of our work. Nowadays we are facing the situation when society has no information about the rights it has or has no means of exercising them.
To bring changes to the situation for students of various technical school we have a “Mobile Consulting Point”.
Foundation’s specialists create and distribute free of charge brochures and media materials that are used by teachers, social workers and volunteers in their work individually and in groups.
We publish a newspaper insert called “Guys” for children and teenagers (1000 copies are distributed free of charge among boarding-school students and students of other educational institutions) and periodical inserts devoted to various social and legal aspects. This is done in cooperation with newspaper called “Grivna-plus”.
Children’s Rights Information Center was opened in 2002 and is functioning on the premises of Lugansk Taras Schevchenko National Pedagogical University. Center of Social Services for Family, Children and Youth in Leninskiy Region City Council provides for functioning two more centers: Conflict Prevention Methodical Center and the Center for Public Legal Protection for socially unprotected groups of population.
Unfortunately, there is no systematized information on public organizations which deal with the problems of children today, there is no coordination of activities between them, no exchange of working experience, activity of many of them is complicated because of economic instability.
Taking into account that "the big press" quite often ignores children's problems, focusing its attention mainly on sensational facts, it is evident how actual is the question of creation and support of children's mass media in Ukraine that would promote children's participation in the life of society, protect the right to state their own ideas, persuasions, and bring them to the public judgment.
A network of information systems should be formed for further development of this direction whose intermediary would draw children and youth's attention to the information on healthy way of life, studying their own rights and their use, legal and social consultation.
It is necessary to involve mass media for uncovering the main problems of children and youth's development, healthy way of life, the rights of youth.
